Programs
Infant Program (Age 1)
The focus of the Infant Program at Great Beginnings Learning Center is to learn through play. Our infants learn by exploring their surroundings both indoors and outside. They learn gross and fine motor skills along with social skills with teacher directed and independent play. They will be engaged in activities such as art, music and movement and storytime. Our teacher monitors playground play while encouraging the children to climb, slide, swing and ride trikes.
We communicate daily with our parents via a daily report sheet which details your child’s activities, nap, diaper changes and what they ate. Our teachers are also available to talk one on one with you about any concerns you may have. Toddler Program (2 year olds)
Our Toddlers here at Great Beginnings Learning Center engage in many activities. They learn colors and shapes, counting and ABC’s through a variety of ways. They have art, music, storytime and playtime both indoors and outside. Teachers use Beyond Centers and circletime curriculum when doing lesson plans and monthly themes. Our teachers are available for meetings about your child’s progress.

Preschool Program (3 year olds)
At Great Beginnings Learning Center we take great pride in being a learning facility. Our three year olds in the Preschool Program are at a great age for learning and we will focus on developing their letter recognition, phonics, letter sounds, number recognition and basic handwriting.
We will use Beyond Centers and circletime curriculum. This is what our learning will be based off of. We encourage learning through play to develop our social and emotional skills as well as our motorskills. Our teachers will schedule individual meetings with you periodically to keep you updated on your child’s progress. VPK (4 year olds)
The Great Beginnings Learning Center’s VPK program runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 12pm. We follow the Volusia County School Calendar with the exception of a couple of Teacher duty days. This program is free to all four year olds who turn four on or before September 1st. We offer wrap around care before and after VPK at an additional charge.
Our VPK program prepares children for Kindergarten. We focus on reading, writing, basic math, art, music and playtime both indoors and outside. The children will learn both upper and lower case letter recognition. Letter sounds will be learned along with counting and number recognition.
Our teachers enjoy teaching the children through play, music, dance and art. They will encourage your child to do more than they think they can. We celebrate milestones throughout the year and end VPK with a graduation. After School Program
Great Beginnings offers a comprehensive after school program that helps children with homework, social skills and provides a safe secure environment where they can feel at home.
Our goal for after care is to help enforce what a child has already learned and offer help in continuing education. We pick up at two local schools, George Marks and Citrus Grove.
Our after school instructors are trained to help each child excel with their natural gifts and offer encouragement as they progress through school. As with our VPK program we focus on reading, writing, math, art, music and playtime both indoors and outside. We have an open door policy and invite parents to participate and enjoy as we care for your precious gift.
